Hi!
I hope you're having a great week. I write you with more great news from my practice - I’m very grateful to have been selected as one of 50 wildcard artists to take part in Landscape Artist Of The Year 2025. Its one of the UK's most loved art competitions and one of my favourite TV programmes. It was filmed last Thursday at the very picturesque Bristol Harbourside.
Out of six landscapes to choose from, this was the perfect location for my colourful abstract style. I had an opportunity to talk through my process with the show's presenter Stephen Mangan. It was nerve-wracking to say the least but I thoroughly enjoyed taking part and pushing myself out of my abstract comfort zone. I could do it all again! The show will air on Sky Arts early next year. Until then, all of the artists have all been sworn to secrecy about the winners and the work created! I will of course keep you updated when its due to hits our screens.
Artiq x London Heritage Quarter - Heritage Summer.
In my last newsletter I mentioned that I was working on a public art project with art consultancy, Artiqand their client The London Heritage Quarter.
This summer take a 'Journey Through Time' and find 11 London-themed sculptures from Victoria to the Strand. Painted by artists from @artiqgram, each sculpture accesses an augmented reality that reveals archival imagery of nearby landmarks and the surrounding area. Featuring iconic British symbols like a post-box, a Coldstream Guard, and a larger-than-life sculpture of a crown near Buckingham Palace, this trail is not one to miss!
For a chance to WIN Afternoon Tea at The Conrad Hotel, St James, share your photos on Instagram and tag @LondonHeritageQuarter and #HeritageSummer.
A huge thank you to Headmaster, Mr Pain, the art department and all of the teachers, students and staff at The Charter School who allowed me to paint at the school because my sculpture could not fit the pathway to my garden studio! They all cheered me on as they watched the piece come to life.
I hope you will be able to find some time to visit the sculpture and take part in the art trail and giveaway. It will live in Grosvenor Gardens, right next to Victoria Station until August.
