Invitation: Artist Open House - Dulwich Festival, 2025

You’re Invited to My Open Studio.
Weekends: 10th, 11th, 17th & 18th May.
11am - 5pm.

Each year during the Dulwich Festival, local artists open their studios to the public and I hope you will be available to visit mine. It’s a rare chance to experience all of my newest paintings up close and in the space where they’re created.

You’re warmly invited to drop in, explore the work, and perhaps find a piece that speaks to you, whether a limited edition print or a bold statement painting for your home or art collection. Following my recent experience on Landscape Artist of the Year, I’ll also be painting live each day from 2.30–3.30pm. Come by, soak up the atmosphere, and witness the process.

No RSVP or tickets needed for the open houses - just pop in on any of the dates listed above.

The Affordable Art Fair New York.

A huge thank you to my new collector in New York and Azart Gallery.

I was very grateful to learn that my painting Towards Pleasure, Away From Pain sold at The Affordable Art Fair New York last month. Azart Gallery curated their stand spectacularly! My pieces popped off this beautiful ultramarine wall.

I have to say that the first painting in any series I make is always the first to garner the most interest or find a new home. There must be something in that! ☺️

The paint is still wet, but I’m nearly there, this may well be the fourth and final piece in this series. As with all my work, these paintings are deeply rooted in the present moment and whatever I’m experiencing. When something shifts and a new thoughts take hold, I follow and a new series begins.

These paintings have evolved naturally from the soft, generous curves of my teapot sculpture from this time last year. Since then, the forms have gradually fragmented into this piece - almost going back to the Helpless series (working title), so I feel that I have come full circle.

Alongside the canvases, I’ve kept the studio cloths and the AI-generated pieces that have accompanied each painting - these will all be exhibited at my open house. While I don’t feel the urge to create another piece just yet, I’m content to stop here - for now.

Please contact me to enquire about this painting or any of the others in the series.

Inspired!

Last month I took part in an online lecture entitled How Great Art and Artists Are Made by author and Pulitzer Prize winning art critic Jerry Saltz. In the image above Jerry talks about the stone chisels used by cavemen to carve art into cave walls. There are no limitations when art wants to be made.

My work was lucky enough to come to Jerry’s attention in 2022. Unbeknown to me he had spent a little time on my instagram account and liked posts of my work. This was a huge milestone for me, Jerry has spent almost a lifetime looking at art and this nod meant allot to me. I sent him a message to say thank you and he responded with further words of encouragement. Over the years, his articles and books have educated and encouraged me to just keep creating - through self doubt, adversities and hardship. You may already know that his book Art Is Life is the main inspiration behind my painting Helpless To Do Otherwise.

The lecture was a deep dive into art history - from the earliest marks ever made to the powerful stories carried through time by art. I left completely inspired, and I can’t wait to see (and share) where these newly sparked neural pathways take me as I explore a new series in my ongoing practice of consciousness and the human condition.
