My Two Last Oil Paintings Of 2025 & A Huge Thank You!

Abstract artwork with colourful shapes and forms, surreal abstract paintingFor my last art blog of 2025, I want to say thank you so very much for engaging with my art, my practice and my blogs.

2025 was an intentionally more grounded year for me. I focused on big exhibitions and larger works.

I enjoyed eight inspiring new audiobooks and over 2,000 minutes of podcasts in the studio whilst creating 15 new large-scale oil paintings.

I returned to oils this year. One of my first written Instagram posts of 2025 was: “I’ve fallen in love with painting again.”

You may already know that my main medium has always been ink on cotton paper. And although I still use handmade cotton paper, I didn’t work with ink as much this year until these last couple of months - more on that in the new year! 😉

I love to experiment, and after years of art school, learning to draw and paint, I wanted to challenge myself. So after graduating, I worked exclusively with ink - really understanding its capabilities and enjoying the freedom it gave me as an artist. With that, I put down my brushes and focused on a technique I really enjoyed whilst studying at Epsom school of art - mark making.

Now, when I work with oils and brushes, I employ everything I learned from working with inks - the mark making, the vibrant colour, the colour blending and the organic flow - that which runs through all of my abstracts.

I have a saying: “myself and my art are always works in progress”. Each painting is a moment in my progress not only as a human but as an artist, I will never stop evolving and hopefully, neither will my art.

Thank you for being here. I truly appreciate your support.

Above and below are my two latest paintings: Before We Forget and To Notice Is To Become Aware. They are the second and third in my new series, Presence. I look forward to creating the next in series very soon.

You can see the first three here.

But before you click on the link above; If you’ve been considering purchasing one of my paintings or prints, this could be a good time to add something joyful and vibrant to your walls. You can view my whole collection here.

I wish you and your loved ones, happiness and peace over this festive season and new year.
