Hi,
I hope you're well and enjoying March so far? For the last 3 weeks, I've been patiently waiting for the remainder of internal work to be done in my studio. This has been a real test for me, all of my tools are packed up and there hasn't been a clean surface to work on, so I surrendered to the fact that I can't create! All this tension only fuels my anticipation to get back into it as soon as possible. I have surrendered to that which I can't control and I cannot wait to surrender to that which wants to be made.
*Surrender is a theme that runs concurrently through my practice. I recommend the book; The Surrender Experiment by Michael A Singer for a deeper understanding of the art of positive surrender.
After almost a month of framing, I was very pleased to deliver these two ocean paintings to their new home. These are the first in my new Porthole series of works. By encasing them in a double circular frame, they transport you from the comfort of your home to the beauty and mystery of an endless ocean in my ink casting style. It was also an emotional suprise to see my first ocean painting below, taking pride of place as the first piece of art you see in my clients home - Thank you!
Dulwich Festival Artist Open House.
Artists and makers in Dulwich, Herne Hill and its surrounding areas open up their homes and studios to visitors every year for two weekends in May. Please save a date and come along on 13th, 14th, 20th or 21st May. There are 3 other artists showing within close proximity of my home [no invite neccasery, you just turn up] and many more in the local area too. Its a great opportunity to see and buy art but also to see where the work is made. There's plenty of places to park and eat and three amazing local parks; Ruskin, Brockwell & Dulwich Parks.
