Created as part of my on-going flow state series of works, this piece was made whilst listening to Mark Manson’s The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*. The book is fast paced, witty and direct. It questions the priorities of human beings, our entitled way of life and essentially how we can choose what to give our energies to.
The audio is light, funny and even makes light of its darkest chapters. I laughed my way through the cleverly written comedic narrative - to the point of disregarding the profanities and playing some of it to my 14 year old son who loved it.
I found the book beautifully enlightening, I’m not surprised that the result is a vibrant and optimistic piece of work.
When summing up, Manson pulls in references from Buddhism stating that the “meaning of life is to find nirvana”. In short, nirvana is a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self.
