A Huge End Of The Year Thank You!

abstract art painting for sale

I hope you’re doing well and feeling ready to embrace the spirit and busyness of December! I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I have completed a new painting since my last newsletter:

A Series Of Natural And Spontaneous Changes. 100cm x 100cm x 4cm Sq.
Oil on deep stretched canvas.

A further extension of the smooth curves of my teapot design, I have this time, tried to explore an abstract skyscape / landscape.

My inspiration comes from Lao Tzu who said; “Life is an ever-evolving series of natural and spontaneous changes”. I took from this that life unfolds in ways we often cannot predict or control, these shifts, whether small or monumental, guide our growth, challenge our perceptions, and shape our experiences. By embracing these shifts, we learn to adapt, find meaning in the unexpected and move in harmony with the world around us. Resistance creates struggle, but acceptance allows us to navigate change with grace and resilience.

I hope you like this painting. It’s currently available with free nominated UK delivery on my

Tokyo International Art Fair
This weekend, I’m really grateful that three of my prints have made their way to Tokyo International Art Fair with Alinda Kring Art Advisory. I met Alinda early this year and I’m really happy that she selected my work for the show. She chose Helpless To Do Otherwise Limited Edition, Going Out LE and Look Outside To Learn About Yourself Open Edition (pictured). Look Outside has been a real surprise to me, I’ve only shown it in two exhibitions, it’s not on my website but whenever I share it on my socials, it garners good feedback. So for the
first time, I thought I would share it in my newsletter.

The original is still available so if you like it and are planning on refreshing your interiors in the new year, please get in touch for more images and information.

BFCM: I choose not to take part in Black Friday / Cyber Monday. I’m very grateful that many of my collectors have purchased my art at the full value and I don’t think it’s good practice to lower my prices at the end of the year. For many, Art is also an investment and by lowering my prices too far away from their value, the work depreciates. Instead, if you already own a piece of my art, I sometimes have another piece from the same series that would make a great addition to your art collection. I will be in touch directly to offer it to you. Alternatively, if you have your eye on a particular piece or print for yourself (or as a gift), please get in touch to enquire.

30 Paintings!
I’ve counted that I completed 30 new pieces this year. But I have to admit that there are at least 7 other abandoned works still hanging in the studio and at least 3 that were painted over! 😅. Above is a snapshot of just 9 of the 30 - I think these are a good representation of my year of colour!

In the studio…
I’m about to start my largest painting yet. One of my goals for next year is to work on a much larger scale, and this piece will be 150cm high by 100cm wide. Visually, I’m not entirely sure where it’s heading yet, but over the past few months, I’ve been feeling quite reflective. In the spirit of living in the present moment—let’s see where it takes me! Wish me luck! 😅🤞🏾

Thank you once again for your incredible support. Wishing you a wonderful December, a loving and peaceful Christmas, and a very Happy New Year!

Thank you for taking the time to read my news, until next time and with gratitude,
Courtenay.
