Description:
Being a teenager in the 80s and 90’s was an exciting time. The 80’s was a decade of change, social and political movements, economic shifts, and technological advancements.
Teens enjoyed newfound independence, more opportunities to go out without adult supervision and music was the only culture we needed. All my friends and I cared about was music, fashion, our friendships and boys!
I used to feel on top of the world when I’d shout up to my mum “I’m going out” and quickly shut the door and be out for hours with my friends.
This was a time of experimentation and exploration, with a sense of freedom and rebellion - that I was allowed to enjoy. I played by the rules (most of the time).
Here’s to the gift of nostalgia and holding onto all of the vibrant memories it still gives us.
